Fracture in Mashrafe’s hand

There is a bad news. The scan report of Mashrafe brought this bad news from New Zealand. Fracture in the thumb of Bangladesh limited over cricket skipper Mashrafe’s right hand has been found.

Mashrafe left the field being hurt while fielding in his own bowling. At the end of the match his hand was scanned in a local hospital. And there wrist fracture was found in the report. It was his last match during New Zealand tour just because he does not play Test matches. Mashrafe may take 6 to 8 weeks to fully recover from this injury.

Mashrafe went to field in his own bowling in the last t20 in Bay Oval. When he stopped the return ball, it hit his wrist firmly. The captain left the field without completing the over. It was eighteenth over of tigers’ fielding when Mashrafe left the field for the injury. He could not bowl the last 4 balls of the over. Mosaddek Hossain completed the over. Later, Mashrafe was not needed to bat in the match where Bangladesh had lost by 27 runs. His bowling figure of the match was 3.2-0-42-0.

Mashrafe plays one day and t20 cricket. Now as far as the list of tour is concerned, Bangladesh will not play any one day or t20 series before May of this year. So there is time for Mashrafe to get recovered.

In 2001, teen ager Mashrafe had to return in the middle of his first New Zealand tour due to injury. And also this time, his tour is ended with injury after 16 years!
