Saif, Taibur, Kapali hit double centuries on the same day

Batsmen are spending great time in National Cricket League (NCL). On Wednesday, the league has witnessed three double centuries.

Skipper of tigers’ youth team Saif Hasan completed his first double century on behalf of Dhaka division. His teammate Taibur Rahman also touched this milestone on the same day. On the other hand, experienced Alok Kapali made an extra-ordinary double century on behalf of Sylhet.

Dhaka division has faced Barisal division in their first stage match in Sylhet International Stadium. Skipper of Bangladesh under 19 team Saif Hasan was unbeaten completing his century on Tuesday. On Wednesday, he took his innings to the landmark of 200 runs and was dismissed at 204 runs by the bowling of Touhidul Islam.

He decorated his innings with 20 fours and one six. He took 556 minutes for his 410 balls innings. This is his second century in first class cricket and first double century in any format of cricket. This 18 years old youngster played an innings of 109 runs against Khulna Division in the 5th round.

On the other hand Saif Rahman’s  Dhaka teammate Taibur Rahman started the second day with 70 runs. He decorated a gorgeous innings of 242 runs before being caught and dismissed by the ball of Touhidul. This 25 years old left-handed batsman played 26 fours and one six for his attacking innings of 302 balls. Taibur stopped taking his fifth century to double century in first class cricket which is his career best. Earlier he played and sparkling innings of 207 runs in first class cricket.

Dhaka declared their innings collecting 588 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the day of two double centurions of their team.

Meanwhile, in Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong, Sylhet Division has faced Chittagong Division in the 6th round match. Alok Kapali of Sylhet started playing in the second day with 56 runs. And when his team declared their innings at 555 runs for 7 wickets, he had completed double century.

Kapali was unbeaten in 200 runs of 266 balls with 12 fours and 10 sixes. This is 33 years old Kapali’s 19th century in first class cricket.
