Khaleda greets people on Durga Puja

BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia greeted the Hindus ahead of Durgapuja and Bijoya Dashami. On a message sent to the media on Monday, Khaleda said, "Durgapuja is the biggest festival of the Hindus and in the subcontinent as well as in Bangladesh. This festival is celebrated here for a long time."
She said, "Any festival creates bonds among people and inspires fraternal feeling. Peace and welfare of humanity is the message of all the religions. It is our duty as humans to discard violence and become resolute about establishing peace and equality. It is the message of Durgapuja is to destroy the Asura of jealousy, greed, and rage and establish heavenly peace in society."
She also commented, "Places of worship of the minorities are suffering more attacks during the tuner of this government. Many temples and Hindu houses were attacked ahead of Durgapuja this year too. The ruling party is involved in this incidents responsible for ruining the religious harmony."
Khaleda urged all regardless of their religion to remain alert about the evil attempts. She said, "BNP is committed to ensure the religious freedom of all in the country. We do not believe in majority and minority theory. Our biggest identity should be being a Bangladeshi."
She wished a complete success of the Durga festival.
