Senior Joint general Secretary of BNP Ruhul Kabir Rizvi commented that the syndicate of Ruling Part business men are responsible for the increase of price of rice. He said that at a press conference at BNP's central office in on Thursday.
Rizvi said, "The price of rice did not decrease even after the meeting between businessmen and the ministers. He commerce minister's statement saying that the rice sellers and mill owners promise to decrease rice price from 2 to 3 taka is nothing more than flowery words, because the market is not affected by it. Even yesterday coarse rice was sold for Tk55, while fine rice was sold for Tk65-Tk70."
He said, "Awami League promised to feed rice for ten taka per kilogram. That rice for ten taka per kilogram remains only in books, not in silos."
At that time he demanded bringing the prices of all types of rice within people's capacity to buy.
