Kalyan Party for army deployment at least 8 days before polls

Bangladesh kalian Party demanded deployment of army at least eight days before the 11th National Parliament Election. The party expressed its demand during the meeting with the Election Commission (EC) in Election Building in Agargaon on Thursday. ECs headed by The Chief Election Commission (CEC) KM Nurul Huda, and acting secretary of EC were present during the meeting.
Kalyan Party Chairman major general (retired) Syed Muhammad Ibrahim Bir Pratik led a 10-memebered reperesentative team to dialogue with the EC. Kalian Party made eight suggestions in the meeting.
After the meeting, the Party Chairman told reporters that the prioritized four issues in the dialogue, which are- increasing the capability of the EC, the expatriates' right to vote, reestablishing the limits of constituencies, and permitting a party in an alliance to participate in the election with any symbol of the fellow parties in the alliance.
Syed Ibrahim said, "We demanded deployment of army 15, 10 or at least 8 days before the national polls."
"There is nothing wrong with the current law enforcers, but whatever the reason, they have become politicized. They cannot help organize a fair election, but the people believe that a fair election can be held if army is deployed."
