BNP-Jamaat alliance lobbied agencies to pull back Rampal Project: Hanif

Joint General Secretary of Awami League Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said the approval of World Heritage Committee of Unesco to Rampal power plant has proved that all decisions taken the by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina led government are accurate.
"Unesco approval to set up Rampal power plant has proved that all the decisions taken by the present government under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina are appropriate and for the wellbeing of the nation," he said while exchanging views with local Awami League leaders at his native residence in Kustia on Friday.
"The BNP-Jamaat alliance lobbied different agencies to pull back the project, but all of their efforts went into vain," he said. He said the next general election would be held in January, 2019 or in December, 2018 under the Election Commission.
District Awami League President Alhaj Sadar Uddin Khan, General Secretary Asgar Ali and Zila Parishad Chairman Hazi Rabiul Islam were present among others.
