Bobby Hajjaj’s ‘NDM’ active in field

Ahead of the upcoming national parliament election, policymaking body of Jatiyatabadi Gonotantrik Parishad (NDM) wants to elevate the party as an alternative opposition political force.

Therefore, the party led by businessman Bobby Hajjaj is working hard in grassroot level.

Sources from NDM informed, main target of the party’s policymaking body is to uplift NDM as a clean political party by 2017-18. Party leaders are hopeful that they can participate upcoming election with candidates in 200 constituencies. NDM secretary general ATM Golam Maola Chowdhury informed poriborton.com that those who have joined the party already have started publicity in filed levels.

It has been learned that NDM Chairman Bobby Hajjaj has a plan to contest the next election from 3 constituencies. Boby could contest the election as an MP candidate from the capital’s Dhanmondi or Gulshan. There is probability of his contesting the polls from his local area--Bhanga upazila of Faridpur and his maternal grandparent’s area--Sujanagar of Pabna.

While NDM secretary general ATM Golam Maola Chowdhury was asked about his contesting the election as an MP candidate, he said, “Feni is my local area. If I contest the election, I will do it from Feni-1.”

NDM secretary general informed that the party has formed convener committees in 32 upazila and members of different political parties have joined there.

Jatiyatabadi Gonotantrik Jubo Andolon has been formed as an associate wing of the party. The body already has formed 5-member moderation committees in different districts and they are active in running activities in filed level.

NDM secretary general further informed poriborton.com that a policymaking body will be formed as a standing committee comprising 19-21 members.

However he said that none will be included in the policymaking committee who came from Jama’at-e-Islami but they will get the opportunity to work in field level. It will also be investigated whether they are involved still with Jama’at, added the secretary general.  

On January 12, 16 posts in central executive committee of the party have been announced. Necessary papers were handed over to the appointees at an official meeting of the executive committee held at the party chairman’s temporary office in the capital’s Banani.

The appointees are—Enayet Kabir, Vice Chairman, Abu Syed, Vice Chairman, Abdullah Mohammad Taher, Joint Secretary General, Lucky Hussain, Joint Secretary General, Syeda Sadia Mehjabeen, Organisational Secretary, ATM Momtajul Karim, Organisational Secretary, Nizam Mohammad Uddin, Organisational Secretary, Amirul Islam, (Noyon Murad), Publicity and Publication affairs secretary, Nurul Qader Chowdhury, Secretary for Cooperation affairs, Nuruzzaman Hira, Joint Organisational Secretary, Jahirul Islam, Joint Organisational Secretary, Harun-Ur-Rashid, Joint Organisational Secretary, Abdullah Al Mamun, Joint Secretary for Labor affairs, Maolana Nurul Quader Siddiqui, Joint Secretary for Religious affairs, Khalid Imtiaj Rahman, Joint Secretary for Sport affairs and SK Siam Ali, Executive member.

Among them, Vice Chairman Abu Syed and Organisational Secretary ATM Momtajul Karim left Jatiya Party and joined NDM. Joint Secretary General Lucky Hussain left LDP and joined NDM. Vice Chairman Enayet Kabir was a leader of Biplobi Chhatra Parishad in the ‘80s.
