150 attacked by Chikonguniya across country, DSCC’s crash program to control

Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Sayeed Khokon has said that 150 patients of Chikonguniya were detected across the country. He said, “There is nothing to panic about sudden Chikonguniya. It is a mosquito-borne disease and it comes under control within 7 days by normal medication.
He told all these before inaugurating mosquito removal crash program on the premises of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical University on Sunday.
Khokon, raising the steps taken by DSCC to prevent Chikonguniya and Dengue, said, “We have started the process of destroying mosquitoes in all the wards of the corporation through the crash program.
Mentioning that the outbreak of Chikonguniya will be reduced by the crash program, the mayor said to the citizens, “There is nothing to panic about mosquito-borne chikonguniya any more.”
After the speech, the mayor inaugurated the program to destroy the mosquito-killing crash program with BSMMU professor Kamrul Hasan Khan.
At this time, chief executive of DSCC Md Bilal, Chief Health Officer Brigadier General Sheikh Salahuddin, Councilor Hasibur Rahman Manik and others were present.
