16-day Bangladesh Film Festival begins Saturday

A 16-day Bangladesh Film Festival will begin simultaneously at 64 districts across the country including capital Dhaka Saturday under the initiative of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and Department of Films and Publications.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will inaugurate the function at the Jatiya Chitrashala Plaza auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy at 5pm while "Bapjaner Bioscope" of Riazul Razu will be screened tomorrow evening.
Academy's Director General Liakat Ali Lucky announced the programme at a press conference at the seminar room of Jatiya Natyashala this afternoon.
Lucky said some 44 movies will be screened at 64 districts in the 16-day festival simultaneously. Three films will be showed on each day at 3pm, 5pm and 7.30 apart from the inaugural evening. The festival will continue till October 21.
Festival's jury board chairman and filmmaker Masiuddin Saker, film researcher Anupam Hayat, filmmakers Saidul Anam Tutul, Dr Sajedul Awal, Shilpakala Academy Secretary Jahangir Hossain Chowhdury, among others, attended the press conference.
