Rokeya Prachi to compete in parliamentary election

Rokeya Prachi is preparing to take part in the election as a possible candidate from Feni-3 seat (Sonagazi and Daganbhuiyan) of Jatiya Sangsad. The home district of this small and big screen’s popular actress is at Sonagazi. Already, Rokeya Prachi has taken part in the election campaign in various areas of Feni-3 constituency. It is known that she will ask nomination as a candidate of Awami League.
President of District Sramik League Shamsuddoha Dulal and general secretary Jalal Ahmed Hazari expressed their support to Rokeya Prachi at an eid-reunion program held at Five Star Chinese Restaurant in Jail Road of Feni on Wednesday afternoon. District Awami League president and Sadar Upazila chairman Abdur Rahman was present in the program as chief guest. At this time, Rokeya Prachi was present as invited guest.
She said, “In order to speed up the wheel of development of the country, to take the force of Liberation War ahead and to keep up the independence and sovereignty of the country, the hands of Prime Minister Shelkh Hasina have to be strengthened. Everyone will have to work, forgetting all the differences, to make the boat symbol winner in the next election. I have prepared myself for that goal.”
Prachi said, “I always want to work for the people. Whenever I get an opportunity, I have tried to do something good for others. From that thought, I wish to participate in the parliamentary election for a long time. I want to do something good by utilizing the power for people’s welfare. Already, I have started taking preparations slowly. If everything remains okay, I will take part in the next election.”
Rokeya Prachi is involved in acting along with labor movement for a long time. She is the central leader of Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation.
