CJ sends letter to President over going abroad

Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha has sent a letter informing President Abdul Hamid about his trip abroad. The letter, which reached Law Ministry was sent on Tuesday, said Supreme Court (SC) sources. Law Minister Anisul Haque could not be contacted over telephone for comments regarding the letter.
The Law Ministry around 11:30pm on Sunday issued a notice appointing Justice M Wahhab Mia as the acting Chief Justice as the CJ went on a one month vacation due to illness.
Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha and his wife have been given Australian visas for three years. The information was confirmed by the related department of Supreme Court.
The Chief Justice, who is currently on vacation now, and his wife applied for Australian visas on October 5. His elder daughter Suchana Sinha has been living in Australia for a long time now. He visited Australia many times.
Head of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University's Cardiology Department Dr Sajal Krishna Banarji went to the CJ's residence in Hare Road to check up his physical condition on Saturday.
When a rumor had arisen that the CJ will leave the country on a Singapore Airlines' flight at 11:55pm on Sunday, the Law Minister said he did not receive any regarding the issue.
