Jessia Islam new 'Miss World Bangladesh'

Jessia Islam was announced the new 'Miss World Bangladesh', after Jannatul Nayeem Avril's title was revoked for concealing information. Bibi Russell, one of the judges at the contest, announced the name of the new Miss World Bangladesh in a program at Hotel Westin on Wednesday.
Antar Showbiz and Emicon entertainment jointly organized the program.
Avril was declared 'Miss World Bangladesh 2017' at a program in Navaratri in Bshundhara Convention City on September 29. Controversy ensued since the announcement of the winner in the contest.
Within minutes of announcing Jannatul Sumaia Himi's name as the winner, the organizers informed that she was the second runner up. After that Jannatul Naim Avril was declared Miss Bangladesh 2017.
Following that, more controversy arose as a number reports appeared in media saying that Avril, who had married earlier, had been chosen by Antar Showbiz. Her name was declared disregarding the judges' marking, according to which Jessia was second runner up. Later, Swapan Chowdhury declared her name as the first runner up.
Jewel Aich, Shampa Reza, Bibi Russell, Chanchal Mahmud, Rubaba Daula, and Sonia Basir Kabir were judges at the finale of 'Lovello Miss World Bangladesh' contest this year.
